The Haven Day Centre is a day program that meets the needs of those with dementia and their carers, through providing a quality day respite option as well as offering carer support initiatives.

We at The Haven Day Centre understand that trying to find information about dementia and the supports that are available to families can be daunting.

What Is The Haven Day Centre?

The Haven Day Centre is a day program for all people who have memory loss that may be associated with strokes or diseases, such as, Alzheimer’s disease, who are still living at home alone or with a voluntary carer.

The Haven delivers a planned, person centered service, with reliable programs that provide a positive impact on the welfare and wellbeing of frail aged and people who have varying levels of memory loss. The Haven welcomes people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, while supporting the carers and families in a warm and supportive atmosphere.

The Haven is a not for profit organisation funded by the Department of Health, through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme and the Home and Community Care program, jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments. The Haven is administered by a voluntary Committee of Management, and is a ministry of the Knox Community Baptist Church.

The Haven cares deeply about every individual that contacts us, whether it be the carer or the person suffering with dementia, whether the attend the Haven or just need advice on how to handle their situation at home.

The aim of The Haven Day Centre is that as each person attending goes home, that they will go with the memory that they have enjoyed their day, that they have been made to feel special and their carers load has been made a little easier by us looking after their loved one.
